Wonderful Wednesday!

Here are a few things that is making this Wednesday extra wonderful!!!

1- It's the first day of FFFAAALLLLL!!!!! I L.O.V.E. fall! I know that I have already mentioned this in my previous post but I just felt the need to repeat it. Pumpkins, mums, candy corn, fall smelling candles, and BEAUTIFUL WEATHER!

2- I got the cutest video of Brooklee today that just puts the biggest smile on my face. She was telling me what a pig and cow says AND she was blowing me kisses! LOVE HER!

3- I bent my knee to 112 degrees today on MY.OWN!!!! WHOO-HOO!!!! Everything is getting easier. I really hope next week the doc says I can get rid of this crutch. Fingers are crossed!

4- I took my last final ever in massage therapy school. Now all I have to do is figure out a time to take my board and then I will be a LICENSED MASSAGE THERAPIST. This has been a very lllllloooonnnngggg process and I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

5- Zach and I have been married for 11 months! Really? 11 months?!?!?! Where has the time gone. So excited to celebrate this special day with him and taste a 1 year old cake.

6- Showers, showers, and showers! I feel like I have a wedding or baby shower every weekend. But thats okay because I sure don't mind. I love showers... it feels like Christmas even though the gifts aren't for me.

Okay... I am done rambling now. I hope your Wednesday has been wonderful too!!!

*Loving It Tuesday*

Last night I woke up and could not go back to sleep for several hours. As I was laying there staring at a pitch black room I starting thinking about everything that I am LOVING right now.

*NO BRACE*
I am no longer required to wear my straight jacket for the knee, annoying brace!!!! Music to my ears. I was definitely in shock when they told me I didn't have to wear it and need I say that I was VERY.NERVOUS! After lots of practice in P.T. I walked out with on crutch and actually being able to see my leg!!!

*Grandparents Text*
ABSOLUTELY LOVING THIS!!! About a month or so ago I got a text message from my grandparents just saying hey and they loved me. Definitely made my day! Yesterday, as I was sitting at my house waiting on Zach to pick me up for therapy, I got a sweet message from them just to check on me. My grandfather also said for Zach to take me to get ice cream after therapy, but Zach though I was kidding =( so no ice cream for me!

*Parents are coming to town*
Yes, they come to town just about every other weekend but this time is different. They are staying at my house this time!!! SO PUMPED! Zach has a weight lifting competition this weekend and I am still very nervous being by myself. Can't wait until Friday.

*Fall is in the Air*
I know, I know... Its still 1800 degrees outside. Hopefully, the cooler weather will be making its appearance soon. I L.O.V.E FALL!!! My favorite holiday is just right around the corner... HALLOWEEN! And it also just happens to be my 1 year anniversary too. I decided to get in the fall/Halloween mood and change me background. I wish you could seem more but it still stinking cute. Oh and one more thing... Another reason I love fall: Pumpkins, mums(even though I can never keep them alive), CANDYCORN, and all the trees changing colors.

*I can bend my knee*
Well, not all the way BUT I can sit on a couch like a normal person. Wearing the straight jacket for you knee for so long you forget what its like. Here are a few things I am able to do like a normal human being:
Sit on furniture normal, sit in the front seat of a car, lay on my side, and I am able to put my own shoes on again! Things we don't realize how simple they are until you can't do it.

These are just a few things that I am Loving right now. My list could go on and on. But I will add more each week. Hope everyone has a TERRIFIC TUESDAY!

I got out of the house!!!

Today was such a BEAUTIFUL DAY and I was thrilled to actually attempt to get out of the house for a little while. Being off work is nice for the first week but it has gotten real old and I was ready to see someone besides my physical therapist. Thankfully, a good friend is getting married in November... so what's that mean????? Showers!!!!! Today, Heather had a lingerie shower. There was no way I was going to miss it. Hobbling around and all, I was there!

I definitely realized that I need to plan more time in the getting ready process. Besides Brooklee's birthday party last weekend this was the only other time that I had to get "dressed." Yes, I get dressed everyday but its usually just gym clothes to lounge around the house before therapy.

Anyways... Heather's shower was so much fun. Of course, I was a knot on a log trying not to trip people with my crutches for about 90% of the time I was there. But there was excellent snacks and a cute cake.
How cute is this???

Oh and of course, a DELICIOUS punch. I LOVE punch! And some BEAUTIFUL flowers!

Getting to enjoy these special moments with Heather is such a joy. I loved getting showered with gifts. Its like Christmas every weekend! Heather and Randall's big day isn't until November but its never to early to start to celebrate!!!

3 weeks post-surgery!

Monday was the actual day for my 3 week mark but today I went to the doctor for my 3 week check up. He seemed very impressed. He let me get rid of the gosh-awful TED hose!!! Best words I have heard since they started making me wear those darn things. If you don't know what they are: a one-legged stocking that is extremely tight and very uncomfortable and makes your leg VERY-VERY dry! Anyways... my incisions are looking good and he did all the normal movements with my leg to check the ACL and he said its looking perfect! Music to my hears!!!I also got to get rid of one crutch... its taking me a little while to get use to this. I am still off of work for the next 3 weeks... which I have mixed emotions about. Who doesn't like to be off work?!?! But at the same time it means.... BOREDOM!!!! I want to do whats best for me and my recovery.

Physical Therapy is coming along pretty good. Seeings how I have had ACL surgery before I keep comparing everything to it. Which I have to keep reminding myself that it was completely different this time. My incisions are different and my knee was all around worse than last time. I have bent my knee over 100 degrees the last couple of visits. My goal is to get it to bend to 120 degrees. I'll get there!

Brooklee is ONE!!!!!!

I can't believe a year has past and Brooklee is already one!!! Time sure does fly by.
Here are a few pictures of her throughout the year.

Saturday was Brooklee's big celebration. It was so much fun. She was so excited too, she didn't even take a nap. She knew something was going on. Em and Britt did a Cupcake theme and it couldn't have turned out any cuter! There were cupcakes all over the place. Here are a few pictures of her party.

Happy Anniversary!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to two of my favorite people!!!!!!!!!!!

Mom and Shorty have been married for 24 years today.

Love yall sooo much!!!!

2 WEEKS POST SURGERY!

So.... today marks 2 weeks since my knee surgery. Things are starting to get easier; I still have to have lots of help... mainly because its hard to get things when you have a annoying crutch in both hands.

Physical therapy is coming along...I have been really dedicated to it. I went back to work for a few days but learned the hard way that I was not ready AT ALL!!!! But after talking to the doctor, I am now off work until Sept. 15th. It may sound nice but all I do all day is lay on the couch or bed with my leg elevated and watch a bunch of t.v..

A few things I really am working real hard on during P.T. is bending my knee. The farthest I have gotten it is 96 degrees. I did that the week of surgery and then after working a few days my knee was sooo swollen I could only get it to 75 degrees... VERY FRUSTRATING! I am doing much better, now! Thanks to "homework" for P.T. and Zach pushing me, I feel that I am slowly but surely making some progress.

Going to P.T. three times a week is the most social interaction I get but just like my first surgery 10 years ago, I still enjoy P.T. You might think I am crazy but there is just something about the satisfaction of seeing progress (even though it is sooo painful!).

I have my 3 week check up next week and I am trying my hardest to blow the doc away with my progress. The hard work will pay off!!!!! I hope!
